Novel dielectric films were produced via homogeneous incorporationof small particles of high dielectric constant ceramics, such as leadzirconium titanate (PZT), into cyanoresin films. The goal was togenerate high dielectric constant composites. Induction of crystallinitywas expected to further increase the voltage breakdown strengths. However, upon detailed testing, it appeared that the composites, dielectric constants, dielectric losses, and DC breakdown strengths donot merit further optimization of physical and electrical properties. Afuture alternative approach will be molecular modeling to guide thesynthesis of semicrystalline, film-forming polymers with polarizablegroups in their backbones
