摘要

The application of renewable energy sources in the power mix of small isolated grids in remote areas is becoming very interesting. This fact is justified because those isolated grids are autonomous and are mainly fed by diesel generators with increased op operational erational cost due to high Diesel cost. Although the wind potential in these areas is not always very high and the grid quality is often limited, the introduction of wind energy can lower the cost of energy and make it less sensitive to increase of diesel price. The implementation of aa hybrid wind-diesel system with an appropriate control strategy in the harbour of Sihanoukville is considered to be aa long term option to reduce the cost of energy and the environmental impact.
