The investigation was made in order to understand the condensation heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics outside corrugated tubes. The characteristics of heat transfer, for kerosene gas and water vapor were investigated in vertical tube and horizontal tube. The variation of heat transfer coefficient with liquid film Reynold number were measured. And the characteristics of pressure drop were also investigated. The variation of friction pressure drop with two phase Reynold number were measured. All of these results of corrugated tubes were compared with that of smooth tubes. It was found that the corrugated tubes can significantly enhanced heat transfer under any comparison conditions. From the comparison between the condensation heat transfer of kerosene gas and water vapor outside corrugated tube, it is indicated that the condensation heat transfer of water vapor was enhanced more effectively than that of kerosene gas.
