摘要

This combined study presents the design (technical) and application (clinical) results from an upper extremity (UE) motion analysis system (MAS) used to evaluate muscle co-contraction in post-stroke adult subjects undergoing chemodenervation (botulinum toxin A) treatment. Included in the work are preliminary treatment results from an evaluation of three (3) adult test subjects (post-stroke). The upper extremity motion evaluation system includes a set of nineteen (19) markers for the kinematic model and ten (10) surface electrodes for EMG analysis. A reaching task was used to evaluate subjects. Preliminary results from applying the system confirm changes in dynamic limb range and muscle activation with chemodenervation treatment. The system is suggested for further clinical application and model development.
