To determine plasma protein adsorption patterns on colloidal drug carriers as key factor for their organ distribution, special sample preparation methods are required to separate the particles from plasma / serum without causing artefacts. By now, most SLN~(TM) could not be investigated using the methods developed for other carriers. Gel filtration is evaluated as a method to make SLN~(TM) accessible to 2-DE analysis.
