Adhesive patch-type delivery system is suggested for sustained dermal application of biologically active ingredients. Poly(acrylate-co-vinylacetate) was used as a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) and vitamin A was loaded as an active compound within the polymer matrix. Repeated application of 0.1% vitamin A-loaded patches onto the crow's foot wrinkles for 12 weeks resulted in the reduction of total surface area and length of wrinkles to 23% and 17%, respectively, without skin irritation.
