SOP vs. SOC at Georgia Tech PRO

摘要

This paper describes the compelling need for converged and microminiaturized systems such as the wireless personal digital assistants (PDA) and network communicators that combine data, video, and voice. The PRC proposes the System-on-a-Package (SOP)-based Information Appliance (SOPIA) as a compelling system, which will be implemented in two flavors as a wireless PDA and as a powerful desktop, both with integrated SOP capabilities. This paper briefly reviews the status of SOP research at PRC in achieving these capabilities.
