By means of image processing systems it is possible to perform a wide range of complex handling applications. The stacking of bricks can be reliably controlled. As a side effect, the system ensures that damaged bricks are rejected and that all layers are complete. The image processing system covers most of the recognition tasks required by palletizing and depalletizing. In case a very high accuracy is demanded, then the system can be equipped with a second camera, thus allowing for a detection of even less tolerances and especially difficult geometries.
