摘要

The alleviation of alkali-silica reaction (ASR) in existing concrete structure is a complex problem. This paper introduces some experimental research on this issue. Results and analysis show that ASR can be alleviated with wrapping fiber reinforced polymers. The high the Young's modulus of fiber, the better the alleviating effect is. Sufficient thickness of FRP and three-dimensional wrapping should be provided. Theoretical analysis displays that proofing water is the first reason of FRP-wrapping suppressing ASR. Physical restraint is the second. External pre-stressing can also alleviate ASR. Three-dimensional pre-stressing and sufficient pre-stressing value will be necessary.
