This paper presents a hierarchical fuzzy logic control scheme to regulate the traffic flow approaching a set of three intersections. Each intersection is controlled by a fuzzy logic control system. An adjustment fuzzy logic system is also developed for coordinating all three intersections. The adjustment fuzzy logic controller adjusts the offset of the neighbouring intersection signals. The superiority of the proposed method is established through simulations.
