This work-in-progress paper describes a pedagogical approach to designing an online collaborative learning environment that scaffolds learners in becoming better collaborative learners. This environment is based on Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) instructional theory. The paper will overview the need for the environment, and the design principles used to design and develop it.
