The properties of sand influencing the workability of concrete are of special interest and should be closely controlled. The variation in fine aggregate water demand is critical both for production economy and product quality. New and proposed EN-tests for fine aggregate quality control are given in this paper. Tests related to fine aggregate water demand measurement in field conditions are introduced and discussed in more detail. Tests include Haegermann Flow Table, Sand Flow Cone, FlowCyl method and Invelop Gyratory Tester. Results of laboratory tests proved that Haegermann FlowCyl method and Invelop Gyratory Tester. Results of laboratory tests proved that Haegermann flow table gave the best correlation with gyratory tester for no-slump concrete. Also Sand Flow Cone can be recommended for sand analysis in field conditions. The test results should be presented in graph form for easy detection of trends in variation.
