TESTING METHOD OF COARSE AGGREGATE AND FINE AGGREGATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a testing method using aggregate itself to measure the strength or Young's modulus of the aggregate as a physical property regardless of the difference between broken stone or crushed sand and gravel or sand.;SOLUTION: Coarse aggregate is mixed with mortar having strength higher than that of the coarse aggregate to be tested in different mixing ratios to prepare several kinds of concrete samples to be tested. Compression strength and Young's modulus are measured with respect to several kinds of the concrete samples to be tested and the strength and Young's modulus of the coarse aggregate are calculated from the obtained relation between compression modulus/ Young's modulus and the coarse aggregate mixing ratio.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
