A comparions between quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) as devices for the determination of affinity constants is presented. The association and dissociation rate constants k_d and k_a respectively were determined by non-linear curve fitting of the time dependent measurement signals dusing assoication and dissociation processes. We used the virus-protein up73 from the african swien fever (ASF) virus as analyte and immobilised an anti-ASF-antibody. The SPR were 3.1.10~(-4) s~(-1) for k_d and 1.1.10~4 (Ms)~(-1) for k_a. k_d and K_a differe for about a factor of 2 for the QCM and SPR respectively.
