The erosion behaviors of boronized layers and thoser after laser eutecticum treatments for carbon steel 45 and turbine blade steel 2Cr12NiMo1 W1V were studied by means of metallographic analysis,microhardness measurement,SEM observation andsolid particles erosion test.The effects of boronized eutecticum structure on erosion resistance were approached.The results show that both boriding layers and boriding eutecticum layers all had erosion characters of brittle materials,i.e.erosion peak occurred at 90 deg impact angle.The erosion resistance of boronized eutecticum layers is higher than that of boronized layers,and it could be greatly increased by proper thickness and surface hardness contorl.
