Applicability of shear specimen test as a simple evaluation method for the properties of laminated rubber bearings: part II test results of rubber materials with different hardnesses

We have been studying simple test method to evaluate the characteristics of rubber material for laminated rubber bearing. In this program, shear specimen tests and laminated rubber bearing tests were carried out, using two types of rubbermaterials, natural rubber and high damping rubber. Furthermore, in order to verify the applicability of shear specimen test, we tested both materials having different hardness. As a result of comparison between both tests, we confirmed that shear specimen test was available to evaluate the physical properties of laminated rubber bearing, but had some difficulties to estimate their ultimate properties.
