Abstract: Because of its high power and excellent opticalfeatures, laser has almost been applied to everywhereof medical research and clinic. Over the past severalyears, laser medical has achieved a rapid progress, andlaser medical instruments has developed promptly, eachnew wavelength can be successfully applied indiagnostic and treatment of diseases. Among the medicallasers, Nd:YAG solid-state laser systems have provenuseful in surgical use operate, such as neurosurgery,gastroenterology, cardioangiology, urology, gynecology,dermatology and ENT. As with other solid-state lasers,the Nd:YAG laser can be made to emit variouswavelengths by means of suitable resonatorconfigurations and some newest solid-state lasertechnology, pumped by the Krypton lamp, the Nd:YAGlaser at room temperature exhibits transition at 1.06micrometer Nd:YAG, using nonlinear crystal and Q-switchto double its frequency can attain 0.53 micrometergreen beam. In our laser systems, the efficiency at1.06 micrometer is more than 3 percent, an efficiencyof 0.5 percent at 1.32 micrometer and 0.53 micrometercan be attained. For a power of 100w at 1.06micrometer, 15w at 1.32 micrometer and 0.53 micrometercan therefore be produced. All of three kinds Nd:YAGlaser hold these characteristics: high output power;optical fiber transition that can be cooperated withendoscope. The paper mainly discusses laser operatingcharacteristics and clinic applications of three kindswavelengths at 0.53 micrometer 1.06 micrometer and 1.32micrometer Nd:YAG laser systems. !4
