On-line Monitoring Partial Discharge in Electrical Equipments

The on-line monitoring partial discharge (PD) in electrical equipments is one of the most important insulation diagnostic techniques. In this paper the recent research works on PD on-line monitoring in Tsinghua University are presented, PD monitoring systems, ultra-sonic transducer and pulse current transducers, on-line calibration and various interference suppression measures are described. Finally, the pattern recognition of PD in application of artificial neural network and pulse propagation in generator stator windings are discussed. on-line monitoring; partial discharge; insulation diagnosis
