Abstract: A new method for absolute measurement of spherical surfaces is described which does not require the rotation of the test surface. It requires the rotation of the diverger lens and the phase-conjugate waves. The alignment of the lens is easy because the two lights reflected by the two surfaces of the lens can be utilized for the alignment. In addition, the phase-conjugate waves can also be used. We analyze the alignment of the diverger lens, and also the alignments of the mirror to be set in the catseye position and the test surface. The experimental results show clearly the usefulness of the method.!3
