How does a radio network make the transition tothe video world in a convergent environment? Thispresentation looks at the challenges Radio Free Asia facedmaking the transition to video production without a greatdeal of financial resources. Additionally, this presentationwill look at how audio production personnel wererepurposed as camera operators, directors, video editors andassociated technicians. The presentation will also examinethe retraining of foreign language radio broadcasters ascamera operators, video editors and producers, taking a cuefrom the “Citizen Journalist” approach to newsgathering. Itwill also explore how RFA integrates video into our webworkflow and assess out live webcasts from studio and fromthe field utilizing inexpensive IT-based solutions.
