PG-7 antitank rocket grenades are widely used in contemporary asymmetrical conflicts.Designing countermeasures against them needs some data characterizing the action of the grenades. Oneof the most important factor is the initiation time, defined by the authors as a time span between themoment of impact of the grenade at a target to the moment when shaped charge jet reaches the target.Results of measurements of the initiation time are presented in the paper. The mean value of theinitiation time and the confidence range of its values are determined. Possible sources of observed scatterof the initiation time values are discussed on the basis of measured values of the reaction time of primerIED used in PG-7 grenades, as well as results of measuring voltage pulses produced by the grenade capin a drop test.
