RESEARCH ON THE INDOOR THERMAL ENVIRONMENT OF THE HAKKA TRADITIONAL DWELLING HOUSES IN GUANGDONG

Guangdong Hakka traditional dwelling house is a wonderful flower in the garden of traditional buildings of the world. It has great value in art and history. Furthermore, Hakka traditional dwellings in Guangdong had the character of the assemble distribution in the north and east of Guangdong, the large amount of its reservation and the wide utilization of them. Although the traditional dwellings adapted them to the natural environment in many means, the indoor thermal environment showed its defects for the long time had passed. In this paper, the indoor thermal environment of Hakka traditional dwelling house in summer had been measured in field, the indoor thermal environment characters were analysed. The results showed that the temperature of hall and bedroom was low, the humidity level was very high and the air velocity was very weak. All these indoor environments were not good to people thermal comfort, so that in the further, to widely use and reserve these traditional dwellings, the ventilation and dehumidification should be reinforced.
