With the rapid social economic development and the acceleration of industrialization, traffic jams, road safety, energy consumption and environmental pollution, caused by automobile usage, are becoming more challenging than ever before. The fifth-generation mobile communication technology (5G) with ten times higher peak bit rate than 4G, millisecond-level transmission delay and 100 billion-level connection capability, meets the requirements of low latency and high reliability. Based on the 5G cellular network communication technology evolution, a wireless communication technology - Cellular Vehicle To Everything (C-V2X), can realize longdistance and larger-range reliable communication. It offers a breakthrough solution to improve traffic safety and efficiency. It gradually supports vehicle-road collaboration and autonomous driving applications, which brings new ideas and solution to traffic problems. High-precision positioning is a prerequisite for the path finding for autonomous driving, and the operation foundation and safety assurance of the intelligent networked vehicles. This article proposes an implementation of a commercial vehicle-road collaborative system based on 5G, C-V2X, satellite navigation and positioning, and fusion perception technologies. Furthermore, it discusses various scenes, values and how the vehicle-road collaborative system help for conditional autonomous buses be launched in a large scale, which will not only promote the commercialization of our 5G network, but also build a smart transportation system that enables new business model and format for the automobiles and transportation services. It is of great importance to improve traffic efficiency, save natural resources, reduce pollution, lower accident rates, and enhance traffic management.
