Ensuring sustainable development is considered from the standpoint of entropy theory. Various directions of the struggle with the growth of entropy are proposed, the necessary conditions for sustainable development are formally determined. The technological, economic, environmental, and managerial aspects of counteracting the growth of entropy are analyzed in detail.
