TweetNews: Location and Time-based News

The way people consume and use information has changed drastically with times. In this digital age where information - especially news is delivered to people on their screens, it matters how it is presented. Internet and social media have increased the amount and speed of information dispersion which makes it inconvenient for the user to readily trust the credibility and authenticity of publishers. For sensitive information like news, it's important to present to the user with more than just a few established sources. The primary aim of this article is to provide a relevant news source for user-friendly daily consumption. The objective is to plot the relationship between the number of tweets over different time periods that are distinguished by different locations. This article discusses the importance of making location, date and time as available filters for news using the python libraries Polyglot and Geograpy so that people do not have to sift through numerous available news sources. This work intends to help users to stay abreast of news of locations relevant to them.
