Indonesia set target on renewable energy (R) at least 23% in 2025 and the increase of global temperature to $2^{circ}mathrm{C}$. However, the current use of energy in Indonesia is highly dependent on fossil fuels that emits massive amount of CO2. Moreover, the biggest source of energy sector GHG emissions comes from the power generation sector (33%). This can result a failure to achieve the targets. An alternative way to prevent this phenomenon is by using biogas or biomass as the power plant fuel. Biogas is a renewable energy that can reduce GHG emissions. In the Gresik power plant area, there are a number of organic waste or food scraps that can be potentially used as biomass. This paper claims that the amount of organic waste around 23.36 $mathrm{t}mathrm{o}mathrm{n}mathrm{s}/mathrm{m}mathrm{o}mathrm{n}mathrm{t}mathrm{h}$ will produced the biogas at 525.58 $mathrm{m}^{3}mathrm{b}mathrm{i}mathrm{o}mathrm{g}mathrm{a}mathrm{s}/mathrm{m}^{3}$ reactor day. This amount can generate electricity by 220,996.72 KWh/year and reduce the CO2 emissions by 1.19 kg/year and CH4 emissions by 7.61 kg/year. Furthermore, the utilization of biogas will save electricity production and waste treatment cost $ 4524/year and Rp. 248, 083,200/year consecutively. Considering the large profits, the use of biogas for Gresik power plant can be used to support the R program in Indonesia.
