The access of new energy will bring many problems to the traditional power system. Bundled delivery of new energy can weaken the adverse effects caused by wind energy and solar energy fluctuations, and is smoother and more controllable than pure wind power or photovoltaic output. In this paper, the framework of the wind-PV-thermal-bundled power transmission is constructed, and the simulation model of the system is established based on MATLAB / Simulink. The control strategy of STATCOM with power oscillation damping (POD) is proposed, and the parameters of STATCOM-POD controller are coordinated and optimized with damping ratio as the objective function. Eigenvalue analysis and simulation results show that the controller parameters optimized by the proposed method can effectively improve the damping ratio of the system, and the overall damping characteristics and dynamic stability of the system can be effectively improved through parameter coordination and optimization.
