The paper introduced an augmented reality (AR) based operation training system for operation and maintenance personnel of intelligent transformer substation, the interactive technologies of wearable devices for operation and maintenance of intelligent transformer substation were in-depth studied and applied, such as interactive manipulating and controlling technology of data glove, gesture interactive technologies based on monocular vision, etc. The system was based on the technology of AR and supplemented by virtual reality scenes to simulate operation, maintenance and overhaul of intelligent transformer substation, thereby building a more realistic immersive virtual environment of training for the operation and maintenance personnel of transformer substation from visual sense, tactile sensation, somatosensory system and interactive mode and so on, so as to make the training system more true and effective with more operational practicality.
