In summary, the developed in vitro TBI model using 3D cultured neural stem cells and 3D printed devices could better mimic the real situation compared to other 2D in vitro models and would serve as a platform to study the mechanism of mechanical injury caused damage to the brains as well as a drug screening platform for searching novel therapeutics that have neuroprotective efficacy to the TBI.
