Travelers do not know the unexpected events on the way when they choose the route according to the known information. We use statistical methods to study the impact of route choice based on empirical prediction. A route choice experiment is carried out to investigate the impact of route choice based on empirical prediction using mobile internet technologies. Experimental data are collected and experimental results are analyzed. Matlab software is used for regression analysis. By introducing the concept of travel information of random perturbation, a flow transfer model is proposed to predict the flow transmission among distinct routes. This study is expected to provide important insights into traveler's route choice behavior thereby reducing travel time and evacuating traffic congestion.
