Fault Diagnosis of Distribution Network Considering Multiple Source Information

The deep integration of living production, intelligent public service and electric power in today’s society makes higher demands on the safety and reliability of the distribution network. This paper presents a fault diagnosis method for distribution network considering multiple information sources. It can take advantages of timing information and logic characteristics at the time of failure. Also, it can better reflect the intrinsic relationship between the information of the measuring device, the protection and the circuit breaker. Finally, it comprehensively utilizes information measuring protective relay, circuit breaker, Feeder Terminal Units (FTU) and other available sources. The chained logic makes use of these information as a result and the status of the primary equipment in the fault circumstance as the cause. Then, the maximum likelihood function is employed to determine the best inference chain, and the accurate diagnosis result is obtained. The feasibility of the proposed method is verified by information collected from industry filed.
