Taking 1478 pieces of articles about educational artificial intelligence study included in the Web of Science Core Collection from 1996 to 2018 as experimental data, this study adopts a bibliometric analysis method and visual analysis tool CiteSpace to accomplish an in-depth exploration of aspects such as evolutionary process, hot issues, and frontier analysis. The study discovers that the quantity of the articles about educational artificial intelligence presents in a wavelike upward trend. The most concentrated studies are in European countries. The evolution of study has experienced the process of "introduction-development-deepening" and its hot subjects include reflection on teaching practice, empirical evidence to support learning and reform path. In general, the case study evolves a new research framework to reveal the application of educational artificial intelligence.
