Chitosan - Calcium Phosphate Composite Materials As Injectable Self Setting Regenerative Dental Materials

Here we have developed an injectable hydrogel composite system for regenerative dental applications. These materials have good load bearing capacity, durability, and restoration of tooth function by reinforcement with CaP particles. The materials are tuned for this efficacy by introducing modifications to the polymer system properties and to the morphology and chemical composition of the CaP particles. The advantage to this research is the inherent bioactivity of the CaP rods which should promote cellular growth and differentiation and aid in regeneration of decayed dentin and enamel surfaces.
