This paper analyzed detection methods for fatigued driving and summarized the features of each technology. Because of its limitation, subjective detection cannot be used to quantify the degree of fatigue. By contrast, objective detection by means of sensors and computational sciences is valued with the development of electronic technology. Through analyzing the main objective detection methods, based on the physiological parameters of the driver, the characteristics of the driver, and the characteristics of vehicle behavior, it is proved that more research is still needed. We should take full advantage of new technology and develop accurate mathematical models combining with multimodal information.
