A collaborative platform with negotiation mechanism for make-to- order textile supply chain: A study based on multi-agent simulation
As the increasing trend of mass customization and small-series production in textile supply chain, make-to-stock strategy was not feasible in textile production anymore. Make-to-order strategy was widely applied in current textile SC. Although make-to-order textile supply chain has many advantages, there were still many defects in its traditional structure. Therefore, we proposed a collaborative platform with a novel negotiation mechanism to enhance supply chain collaboration among textile companies, so that to optimize make-to-order supply chain structure. Agent-based simulation technology was utilized in this study to realize the collaborative platform and corresponding negotiation mechanism. It was compared to the traditional make-to-order textile supply chain structure in simulation experiment. Based on simulation results, the advantages of the proposed structure were demonstrated. It can help improve multiple supply chain performances.
