Tourism destinations play a major role in tourism development. The complexity of activities and actors which need to be managed at the destination level highlights the major contribution that destination management organizations can provide. The use of information technologies is particularly required in tourism products distribution and in this sense the use of destination management systems is an essential tool. The aim of this paper is to present the main conclusions of an international study concerning ebusiness adoption by destination management organizations i.e. the adoption of destination management systems. Following the presentation of the main characteristics of this organizations, ebusiness adoption and the process of implementation of these systems are after discussed. This study intends to present key issues in destination management systems implementation.
