A Cognitive Study on Paddy Cultivation using Random Sampling Technique

Majority of the Indians are agriculturist and cultivating paddy. The present study mainly depends upon primary data. 130 farmers are selected through Simple Random Sampling from Kodakara Block Panchayat. A well-structured questionnaire cum interview schedule is used for data collection. Paddy farmers are still encountering serious marketing problems. The major problems faced by the farmers are delay in payment, lack of MSP, problems of price fluctuation, unremunerative price, lack of storage facilities, lack of awareness about grading and standardization of paddy etc. It is suggested that, The Supply Co. should encourage spot payment system, provide decentralized storage facilities in the village level and Government should increase MSP for satisfying the cultivators.
