It is an important factor to verify the authenticity of an electronic device so as to confirm the strength and protection of electronic network which provides user the secured access and control of network and allowing for identification and verification of hardware devices. In this study, we reviewed the research done so far by taking a brief look at PUF and comparing how PUF was implemented in software and hardware. This paper also describes the types of PUF and reviews the challenges in PUF.
