The Modification Design of Warehouse in Historic Area of Shantou

The representative of the prosperity of old Shantou in the 1930s is the small park historical and cultural block, as a historical witness, but also has a “hundred years of commercial port” title. The vast amount of warehouses and wharfs needed during the boom of trade in Jinping District of Shantou City were abandoned at a standstill but occupied land that was not conducive to urban construction and people's livelihood. Therefore, we carried out the transformation. In this design, we adopted a series of architectural or artistic works and exhibitions of space transformation. Intervention involves various venues such as factories, warehouses, streets, lawns and so on. Hope to provide an alternative opportunity to the old city of Shantou historic street area protection, regeneration and upgrading to bring new opportunities for development.
