As a preliminary conclusion, this study shows significant average porosities at the scale of 160 microns x 160 microns x 20.9 microns (confocal microscopy) and 2.7-5.6 microns x 3.5-7 microns x 3.1-4 microns (FIB/SEM), with respective values of 16.7%+/-3 and 12.9%+/-2.7. These values are on the order of that obtained at the centimetric scale by indirect means (at 10.1%). This is characteristic of a material possessing several distinct pore scales of significant amounts. It is very different from the pore structure of the COx, where only very small volumes are resolved down to FIB/SEM imaging, and for which the main pore proportion is at the nanoscale (as imaged by STEM).
