The paper presents a mathematical model and the results of the dynamic analysis of foil gas bearing, which are currently the most promising rotor support high-speed machines. A solution of the complex task of calculating the dynamic characteristics of foil gas bearing, based on the simultaneous solution of gas dynamics, thermal physics and the theory of elasticity is presented. The calculation diagram for the dynamic characteristics evaluation and the character trajectories of the rotor's center is shown. A technique for the rotor's motion stability analysis is described. The conclusion is made that the operational and geometric parameters significantly influence the dynamic behavior of the rotor, and the temperature of the supplied lubricant can destabilize the rotor because of the decreased elastic and damping properties of the bearing.
