The article considers the questions of waviness parameters formation and deviations of circularity of flat and cylindrical surfaces of parts at processing by superficial plastic deformation by elastic action tool, in particular by diamond burnishing. Dynamic models of burnishing processes of flat and cylindrical surfaces with instruments of elastic action are presented, taking into account the constructive features of tool and technological factors associated with machining conditions and waviness parameters obtained in the previous stage of processing. Differential equations are presented, and amplitude-frequency and phase-frequency characteristics of processing obtained on their base, allowing forecasting the stability of the generated quality parameters of the surface. The criteria are defined, taking into account the constancy of indentor's contact with the surface. The graphical interpretation of the obtained criteria is presented. The concept of technological sustainability of the parts surface treatment is formulated. The adequacy of theoretical results is confirmed by means of physical simulation and real experimental studies.
