Error Injection plays an important role in qualifying high end automotive microcontrollers through extensive stress validation. This covers the error case studies of wide range of interface protocols which is critical to ensure safety. The specialized equipment required for hardware-based error injection is expensive and not consistently available. We describe a proof-of-concept error-injection mechanism with example error-injection cases, as well as implementation details.
