An efficient design of M-channel multirate filter bank (MRFB) is presented in this paper. Polyphase components (PCs) of the prototype filter of multirate filter bank (MRFB) is optimized by minimizing the sum of mean square error of passband error and stopband error enforcing recently proposed cuckoo search (CS) and modified cuckoo search (MCS) swarm optimization techniques (SOTs), based fractional derivative constraints. Fractional derivative constraints are optimized using peak reconstruction error (PRE) taken as an objective function. The eminency of the proposed method is examined by various performance attributes of MRFB.
