Huge amount of Genomics data is present with the scientist, researchers and various bioinformatics or pharmaceutical companies today. To handle these data biologists, computer scientists, analysts are developing various automated techniques. One of the major queries is Genome sequencing, also called read mapping. There are two types of the reads that needs to be handled or processed, as one short read and another one long read. So for the reads alignment various automated software tools are being developed. Read alignment is finding nucleotide sequence in reference genome. Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology is playing vital role for development and advancements of various sequencing algorithms. This paper is about discussion of these techniques and advancements that are being carried out for improving the process of Genome sequencing.
