Environmental investment, energy effciency and environmental performance: A network approach

We develop a network technology representation to measure energyeciency, environmental performance and productivity change,accounting for intertemporal investment decisions.For firms in Sweden's pulp and paper sector, we find:1. General declines to energy effciency and environmentalperformance2. Slight decline to overall productivity3. Positive relationship between energy effciency, environmentalperformance, and productivity4.Positive relationship between environmental investment andenvironmental performance, but negative for productivity5.No significant relationship between energy effciency andenvironmental investments.
