摘要

A finite volume model had been developed to simulate the bollard pulltest of twin propeller tugboats. The Navier-Stokes equations are solvedby using ANSYS FLUENT along with the Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes and the SST k-w turbulence model. A study is carried out underthe standard test conditions using steady and transient methods. Inaddition, a study is presented for situations where the test environmentcannot comply with the ideal conditions of the test. Thus, the effect ofdimensions of the test channel was considered. A validation of theresults by comparing with experimental and theoretical data was madewith excellent agreement.
