A Window of Opportunity to Create a Portal to Digital Libraries and Digital Archives in Hawai'i

In the nearly two decades since the establishment of the California Digital Library, most American states have established similar statewide digital libraries and digital archive portals. Hawai'i remains one of the only holdouts. This paper briefly takes a managerial and policy approach to suggest the present is a window of opportunity to develop a consortium and proposes steps towards considering creation of a statewide digital collection.
