To explore the effect of acetated Ringer's solution on serum electrolytes, lactate and body temperature in elderly patients undergoing septic shock operation, sixty patients are admitted for emergent operation of septic shock and randomly divided into three groups (n=20 for each group): acetated Ringer's group (group P), lactated Ringer's group (group L) and normal saline group (group N). The patients of three groups are received the infusion of acetated Ringer's solution, lactated Ringer's solution and normal saline solution respectively with the fix speed of 1000ml/h. Arterial blood gas analysis was performed before induction of anesthesia(T1), before (T2) and end (T3) of operation. Arterial blood sample are taken to detect pH, BE, electrolytes, blood glucose, lactic acid. Core temperature was monitored at nasopharynx from induction of anesthesia to the end of operation. Shivering within 2h after operation was evaluated by 4-point scale. The patients receiving acetated Ringer's solution had significantly increased serum pH and BE and decreased serum lactic acid at T3 compared to those receiving lactated Ringer's solution and normal saline solution (P<;0.05). There were no significant differences in the electrolytes and blood glucose (P>0.05). In acetated Ringer's group, the decrease of core temperature was significantly lower at T3 compared to those receiving lactated Ringer's solution and normal saline solution (P<;0.05). The rate of shivering at 2h after operation was significantly decreased in group P compared with group R and group N (P<;0.05). Acetated Ringer's solution which can decrease serum lactic acid, correct acidosis, improve microcirculation and maintain body temperature during operation is more suitable for elderly patients undergoing septic shock operation.
