Here we first demonstrated a new method to fabricate ellipsoidal polymersome and subsequently enhance its active targetability toward integrins in vitro. Secondly, we elaborated the importance of polymersome structural stabilities on improving their capabilities to target and image the cancer tissue. We suggest that the PHEA-C_(18) polymersomes have a strong potential to improve the efficiency of targeted delivery of various imaging contrast agents and therapeutic molecules.
